The Gentworks Oxford &
District League’s Arthur Cook Cup was impressively clinched by Peter Franklin
over his win over the past title holder Alan Mander as he marked the beginning
of the season in a grand manner.
In his road to the finals and
a score of 200-124 against Alan, Peter Franklin had a comfortable win in
semi-finals over John Williams with scores of 200-128. However, Alan Mander had
tough road with a 200-199 victory over Bob Hayward in semis and halted his
opponent with a break of 15. In the same competition, names like Nigel Bossom,
Riley’s Lewis Moss, Justin Shepherd and Malcolm Bough were in unstoppable form
but couldn't make it to the finals.
