News of the PGA having given up on Tucson is spreading like wild fire. So what’s the whole deal about? After playing hosts for almost eight years, the successful partnership has come to an end.
However, there are speculations whether the
venue will be used for Championships permanently, due to its remoteness. In
such a scenario they stand to lose a PGA tour too, for which they have found
place on the golf map since 1945.
Even without the Golf Championships, the PGA
had almost given up on Tucson anyway. There is now news that stalwarts like
Tiger Woods, Mickleson and Adam Scott have reservations of playing in the
course located at Dove Mountain. Accenture has already announced its plan to
end its sponsorship for professional golf, making the end of the road obvious
for Tucson.
